BSI performed this project for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and was constructed in Saw Mills, NC. This was the first project that our firm slipformed concrete sidewalk directly behind curb & gutter. Our crews were able to slipform the curb & gutter required for the project, backfill and prepare subgraade for the proposed sidewalk, and then slipform the remaining sidewalk directly behind the curb & gutter. Our firm was recognized for the accomplishments we achieved in slipforming, and were featured in a magazine article "Chris Buchanan Explains Stringless Sidewalk", published in Gomaco World Magazine. Major items included within the construction were 245 LF of CMP pipe, 6 drainage structures, 2,899 LF of 30" curb & gutter, 1,364 SY of concrete sidewalk, 256 SY of concrete driveway aprons, and 878 tons of stone base.
